The Ohio Department of Commerce on Sept. 27 approved Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bank's application to acquire and merge Chicago-based MB Financial Bank NA, according to the state regulator's September report.
The deal is part of Fifth Third Bancorp's acquisition of MB Financial Inc.
