Simmons First National adds bank unit CEO to board

Banking

Simmons First National Corp. appointed senior executive vice president Marty Casteel to the board, effective Jan. 1, 2020. Casteel is the chairman, president and CEO of Simmons Bank and will succeed Christopher Kirkland, who resigned from the company, effective Dec. 31.

J. Gregory Dooley Sr., executive vice president, chief risk and compliance officer of Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, will retire April 3, 2020. Roger Batsel will become executive vice president and COO, effective Jan. 1, 2020.

BBVA USA Bancshares Inc. named Susana Valencia Texas border and Gulf Coast CEO. Valencia is also an executive board member for the Laredo Chamber of Commerce.

Douglas Kennedy, the president and CEO of Peapack-Gladstone Financial Corp. and Peapack-Gladstone Bank, was appointed to the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as a class A director for a three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2022.

Financial Institutions Inc. named Samuel Burruano Jr. general counsel. He will also continue to serve as senior vice president and corporate secretary.

Effective Dec. 18, interim chief credit officer Simon Soh was formally appointed senior vice president and chief credit officer of First Financial Northwest Bank, the bank unit of First Financial Northwest Inc. Dalen Harrison, previously the chief deposit officer, was promoted to chief banking officer.

Prudential Bancorp Inc. director Francis Mulcahy will retire from the board following the annual meeting of shareholders expected to be held in February 2020. Mulcahy's term expires at the annual meeting. He opted not to stand for re-election.

LaJuana Wilcher of Bowling Green, Ky. joined Farmer Mac's board as the latest director. She replaces Chester Culver of West Des Moines, Iowa, on Farmer Mac's board.
