Finablr PLC unit Travelex announced that its U.K. systems and some retail partner units were functional again, more than 17 days after being infected with ransomware and taking its systems offline.
Order placement systems used by HSBC, Barclays and Virgin Money have been restored while RBS and Tesco Bank's systems are offline, Sky News reported.
The foreign exchange company said that it will soon start restoring the units outside U.K. as a part of its phased approach to global restoration of systems. However, no update was provided regarding the restoration of services on the company's website.
The company's CEO Tony D'Souza reiterated in a video posted on the company's backup website that no customer data has been breached.
The company said that it will restore its UK-based international money transfer service by the end of January.
After taking all its systems offline on Jan. 2, Travelex was manually providing foreign exchange services to limit the spread of the virus.
