Northwest Natural subsidiary acquires water, wastewater utilities in Oregon

Northwest Natural Holding Co. subsidiary NW Natural Water Co. LLC agreed to acquire water and wastewater utility companies in Oregon from the resort community Sunriver Resort LP.

Sunriver Water LLC and Sunriver Environmental LLC serve a combined 9,400 connections in the community in central Oregon, according to an Oct. 15 news release. The deal is NW Natural Water's first acquisition in the wastewater sector.

"We were attracted by these companies' legacy of high-quality service, talented workforce and expertise in wastewater operations," NW Natural Holding President and CEO David Anderson said. The deal would allow Sunriver to focus on resort operations, club management and real estate, according to Sunriver Resort Managing Director Tom O'Shea.

NW Natural Holding also owns Northwest Natural Gas Co., a natural gas distribution company that provides service to about 2 million people through 740,000 meters in Oregon and southwest Washington.
