WPG Resources grows contained gold resource at Challenger by 27%

WPG Resources Ltd. has increased the contained gold resource at its Challenger mine in South Australia by 27%, according to a June 1 news release.

The resource now stands at 1.4 million tonnes grading 7.62 g/t gold for 343,299 contained gold ounces.

The increase in contained gold since the June 2016 estimate is largely due to a change in the underground cutoff grade to 3 g/t from 5 g/t and increases in resources in several areas following successful drilling.

WPG said underground exploration at Challenger has the potential to deliver further increases in the resource inventory and extend the life of the mine.
