Alliance Resource Partners LP announced Kirk Tholen as its senior vice president and chief strategic officer.

The company said Tholen will also head its oil and gas minerals unit and will be based in its Tulsa, Okla., headquarters.

Tholen was most recently managing director within the oil and gas group as well as head of acquisitions and divestitures at Houlihan Lokey in Houston, Texas.
