Discovery unveils new Maryland network hub

Discovery Inc. has signed a lease on a 60,000-square-foot space with Brookfield Properties' Silver Spring Metro Plaza in Silver Spring to be the home for Discovery’s new Maryland Network Hub.

The Hub, situated at 8403 Colesville Road, will serve various network and support functions, along with other functions that are normally based in the metropolitan D.C. area, such as government relations.

Discovery also sold its Silver Spring building to Foulger-Pratt and Cerberus Capital Management LP, after the company in January decided to move its global headquarters to New York City in 2019, the company said in a Sept. 6 news release.

Meanwhile, Discovery's media distribution facility will remain in Sterling, Va., and will become a global technology center, as previously announced.

JLL represented Discovery in the sale of the Silver Spring building, as well as in the lease of the Maryland Hub.
