Mc Group profit misses consensus by 21.4% in Q2

Mc Group Public Company Ltd said its second-quarter normalized net income amounted to 16 satang per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 20 satang per share.

EPS rose 7.3% year over year from 15 satang.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 125.7 million baht, a gain of 7.3% from 117.2 million baht in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 12.4% from 12.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 10.9% year over year to 1.01 billion baht from 911.7 million baht, and total operating expenses rose 13.1% from the prior-year period to 824.5 million baht from 729.0 million baht.

Reported net income rose 9.5% from the prior-year period to 191.0 million baht, or 24 satang per share, from 174.4 million baht, or 22 satang per share.

As of Aug. 10, US$1 was equivalent to 34.75 baht.
