Bukit Darah PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 came to 7.09 Sri Lankan rupees per share, a decrease of 33.0% from 10.58 rupees per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 723.4 million rupees, a decline of 33.0% from 1.08 billion rupees in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 17.0% on an annual basis to 7.80 billion rupees from 9.40 billion rupees, and total operating expenses rose 9.8% from the prior-year period to 4.30 billion rupees from 3.92 billion rupees.
Reported net income fell 82.9% from the prior-year period to 487.1 million rupees, or 4.77 rupees per share, from 2.85 billion rupees, or 27.99 rupees per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 15.54 rupees per share, a gain from 2.51 rupees per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was 1.59 billion rupees, a gain from 255.5 million rupees in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased 13.1% from the prior-year period to 72.66 billion rupees from 64.25 billion rupees, and total operating expenses increased 15.1% year over year to 59.22 billion rupees from 51.47 billion rupees.
The company said reported net income decreased 34.6% year over year to 2.11 billion rupees, or 20.71 rupees per share, in the full year, from 3.23 billion rupees, or 31.67 rupees per share.
As of July 22, US$1 was equivalent to 133.81 Sri Lankan rupees.
