Corazon increases contained nickel, copper at Lynn Lake by 35%

An upgraded resource for Corazon Mining Ltd.'s Lynn Lake nickel-copper-cobalt sulfide project in Manitoba showed more than a 60% increase in total tonnes and a 35% increase in nickel and copper metal compared to the prior resource estimate, released in 2015.

Total indicated and inferred resources were estimated at 15.3 million tonnes grading 0.72% nickel, 0.34% copper and 0.03% cobalt for total contained metal of 110,300 tonnes of nickel, 51,400 tonnes of copper and 5,200 tonnes of cobalt at a cutoff of 0.5% nickel, according to an Oct. 11 release.

The upgraded resource also includes a high-grade estimate of 5.2 million tonnes grading 1% nickel, 0.41% copper and 0.04% cobalt at a 0.7% nickel cutoff.

The estimate and positive results from ongoing metallurgical work are expected to provide key data for future mining and development studies at Lynn Lake, the company said.
