AWEC buys Mainstream Renewable's stake in 2 Alberta wind projects

Alberta Wind Energy Corp. acquired Mainstream Renewable Power Ltd.'s 80% stake in the 63-MW Windy Point and 300-MW Old Elm and Pothole Creek wind projects, according to a Dec. 16 company release.

Alberta Wind Energy and Boralex Inc., through their recently formed joint venture Alberta Renewable Power LP, will own 100% interest in the Alberta-based projects. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
