Intuitive Surgical Inc. said July 5 that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted clearance to its SureForm 60 stapler.

The device, a single-patient-use 60-millimeter stapler, is compatible with some of the company's surgical systems.

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based medical device maker said the approval expands its stapling portfolio to cover all required staple line lengths.
