Bank of Ireland Group Plc named Ian McLaughlin CEO of Bank of Ireland (UK) PLC and its U.K. retail business.

McLaughlin previously served as managing director for home buying and ownership and specialist banking at Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC.

He will succeed Des Crowley, who will remain in the position until McLaughlin's appointment is approved by regulatory bodies.
