Tencent invests in UK-based AI startup Prowler

Tencent Holdings Ltd. participated in a funding round for Prowler.io Ltd., an artificial intelligence platform based in the U.K.

Prowler said it raised $24 million from new and existing investors, valuing the company at $100 million. Other investors involved in the round include Pearson PLC, Amadeus Capital Partners Ltd., Atlantic Bridge, Cambridge Innovation Capital PLC, Mandatum Life, Passion Capital, RB Capital and SGInnovate.

The company said the funding will be used to support its product expansion and growth.

Founded in 2016, Prowler develops AI technology for decision-making and has 110 employees from 29 countries.
