General Motors CFO to retire; successor named

General Motors Co. said that Dhivya Suryadevara will succeed Chuck Stevens as CFO on Sept. 1, after Stevens announced plans to retire March 1, 2019.

Suryadevara has been vice president of corporate finance since July 2017.

Stevens, who also serves as executive vice president, will remain with the company as an adviser until his retirement. Before he became GM CFO in January 2014, he was CFO for North America and interim CFO for South America. He began his GM career at Buick Motor Division in 1978.
