AngloGold AshantiLtd. has halted activities at its the Savuka shaft after the death of two employees,South Africa's Times Live wrote April 30.
According to the report, the employees died after being injuredin a series of seismic events at the gold mine in South Africa, one of which wasa magnitude 3.5 tremor. The publication cited the company's Stewart Bailey as sayingthat AngloGold Ashanti will be monitoring whether it is safe to re-enter the mine,while the Department of Mineral Resources is investigating the incident.
