HKS Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Feb. 29 came to ¥36.50 per share, a gain from ¥5.13 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥27.0 million, a gain from ¥4.0 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.7% from 0.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose on an annual basis to ¥1.62 billion from ¥1.59 billion, and total operating expenses declined from the prior-year period to ¥1.56 billion from ¥1.60 billion.
Reported net income increased on an annual basis to ¥122.0 million, or ¥164.91 per share, from ¥3.0 million, or ¥3.85 per share.
