Report: Blackstone taps JPMorgan for potential sale of data center portfolio

Blackstone Group LP is understood to have appointed bankers from JPMorgan Chase & Co. to help gauge the market for potential interest in the Australian data centers held by its DCI Data Centers portfolio company, The Australian Financial Review's Street Talk reported.

The Singapore-based dealmakers of the private equity giant reportedly want to know if interest for the group's data centers in Sydney and Adelaide is enough to warrant a sale, the paper noted. Industry sources said the properties under review are better quality than those held by Metronode, which was acquired for roughly A$1.04 billion by Equinix Inc.

Amid the ongoing review for potential divestments, DCI Data Centers is planning to further expand its global footprint and is eyeing a new location in Melbourne, the publication added.
