Apple Inc. struck a deal to offer predictive data and analytics from Predix, GE's industrial Internet of Things platform, on the iPhone and iPad devices.

The two companies unveiled a new Predix software development kit for iOS, which will provide the developers with tools to make their own industrial IoT apps, the companies said Oct. 18. The new Predix SDK for iOS will become available on Oct. 26.

Also, GE will standardize on iPhone and iPad for mobile devices and also promote Mac as a choice for its global workforce, while Apple will promote Predix to its customers and developers.
