Bangkok Insurance PCL appointed a new chairman and an independent director on its board.

The company on Aug. 11 named Plengsakdi Prakaspesat as board chairman, effective the same day. Prakaspesat, previously the company's independent director and audit committee chairman, will replace Chai Sophonpanich, who resigned June 16.

In addition, the company named Toshimi Kobayashi as an independent director beginning Aug. 11 until April 2018. He replaces Shota Mori, who stepped down May 11.
