Duke Energy Corp. is launching a new renewable energy program for its commercial and industrial customers in South Carolina, according to an Oct. 15 news release.
Under the proposed Green Source Advantage program, large business customers may participate by receiving bill credits for solar power produced by a facility not located on the customers' premises. Participating customers may also retain the renewable energy certificates produced by the power plant.
If approved by the Public Service Commission of South Carolina, the program would provide 150 MW of reserved renewable energy capacity, of which 113 MW will be reserved for Duke Energy Carolinas LLC customers and 37 MW will be for Duke Energy Progress LLC customers. The program must be approved by South Carolina regulators.
