AT&T, IBM partner to help IoT developers

AT&T Inc.struck a partnership with IBM help businesses accelerate their Internet of Things projects.

The companies will create and expand open standards-based tools,like Node-Red, on IBM Cloud so that developers can create and implement a rangeof IoT solutions more efficiently. Developers will also be able to access IBM'sWatson cognitive computing as well as AT&T's Flow Designer and M2X. IBMwill provide developers access to multiple Watson APIs, which would includevisual recognition, speech/translation, tradeoff analytics and personalityinsights.

The two companies are also developing a new starter kit,which will give customers the chance to buy combined technologies of AT&Tand IBM as a toolkit to begin working on their IoT projects.
