CoreCivic signs new management contract for Tutwiler, Miss., prison facility

CoreCivic Inc. said it will immediately house as many as 375 inmates at its Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Tutwiler, Miss., under a new contract signed with the state's Department of Corrections.

The contract went into effect Jan. 8, with a 90-day initial term and up to two additional 90-day extension options.

The prison real estate investment trust said that depending on the State of Mississippi's changing requirements and available capacity, additional beds at the 2,672-bed facility may be used.
