Jordanian Duty Free Shops Q1 profit climbs 5.1% YOY

4916798 said its normalized net income for the first quarter amounted to 11 Jordanian fils per share, an increase of 5.1% from 11 fils per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 2.6 million dinars, a gain of 5.1% from 2.4 million dinars in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 19.2% from 19.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 5.4% on an annual basis to 13.3 million dinars from 12.7 million dinars, and total operating expenses climbed 6.4% year over year to 9.6 million dinars from 9.0 million dinars.

Reported net income rose 5.1% year over year to 4.1 million dinars, or 18 fils per share, from 3.9 million dinars, or 17 fils per share.
