Steel Authority of India says 4 dead at Rourkela plant amid suspected gas leak

Four contract workers at Steel Authority of India Ltd.'s Rourkela steel plant in eastern India died following a suspected gas leak, the company said Jan. 6.

The state-owned steelmaker said a committee was formed to launch an investigation over the incident, with emergency protocols activated at the plant. Reuters wrote the same day that the police is investigating the incident as well.
