PennyMac Financial Services founder dies

PennyMac Financial Services said founder and Non-Executive Chairman Stanford Kurland has died.

The executive died from complications related to COVID-19; he had also been in treatment for brain cancer. Kurland held various roles at Countrywide Financial Corp., including CFO and president, until 2006. He founded PennyMac in 2008, where he was CEO until 2016.
