Norway's LINK Mobility to acquire Italian AI messaging company Matelab

Norwegian communication services provider LINK Mobility Group Holding ASA agreed to acquire Italy-based Matelab Srl for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition is expected to bolster LINK's product portfolio and provide significant upsell opportunities to its customers, according to a Nov. 16 news release.

Matelab owns proprietary advanced conversational artificial intelligence and natural language processing-driven software, including conversational chatbot Xenioo and customer support software system xDesk.

Xenioo operates over 22,000 chatbots and handles more than 10 million messages and over 260,000 conversations per month.

The transaction is expected to close at the end of 2021.
