South Korea-based KB Kookmin Bank opened KB Bank Myanmar in Yangon as the first foreign bank in the country, Yonhap News Agency reported Jan. 27.
KB Bank Myanmar plans to focus on housing loans, digital finance, corporate finance and infrastructure financing. In December 2020, the South Korean lender received final approval from Myanmar's central bank to set up a bank subsidiary in the Southeast Asian country.
