JPMorgan Chase & Co. has hired Haidee Lee as head of M&A for a new group known as the North America Strategic Investors Group, Bloomberg News reported, citing a company memo.
Lee most recently focused on sell-side M&A in Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s cross markets group. At JPMorgan, Lee will be part of a new team created just two weeks ago that will advise private equity firms and family offices, according to the news report. The group combines investment banking teams that covered financial sponsors, family offices and special purpose acquisition companies. The effort is being led by Avery Whidden.
In addition, the bank named Alfredo Porretti head of shareholder engagement and M&A capital markets for North America, the report said, citing another memo. Porretti succeeds Benjamin Wilson, who has stepped down for a senior M&A role at Guggenheim Partners.
Porretti joins JPMorgan from Greenhill & Co. Inc.
