CNO Financial Group Inc. named Richard Shaffer senior vice president for small market sales and insurance operations for its worksite division, effective Dec. 6.

Shaffer was senior vice president of field and market development for the voluntary benefits insurance business at Unum Group and Colonial Life.

Ndivhuwo Manyonga joined the boards of Sanlam Ltd. and Sanlam Life Insurance Ltd. as an independent nonexecutive director, effective Dec. 6.

Manyonga's appointment received approval from the Prudential Authority.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Co. named Angela Meyer head of life sciences in North America.

Meyer was the head of life sciences for the Southeastern U.S. region at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance.

Colonial Surety Co. appointed Jay Lee chief technology officer.

In the role, Lee will head the development of Colonial Surety's artificial intelligence capabilities with a focus on its direct, digital insurance platform.

Marsh Ltd. named Paul Denny global specialty head of financial and professional for Marsh Specialty, effective Jan. 1, 2022.

Beth Thurston will replace Denny as the CEO of the FINPRO business for the U.K., while Stephanie Manson will succeed Thurston as the U.K. management liability leader.
