International Business Machines Corp. acquired SXiQ Ltd., an Australia-based consulting business focused on cloud applications, cloud platforms and cloud cybersecurity.
The transaction, the financial details of which were not disclosed, is in line with IBM's hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence strategy, a Nov. 30 statement said.
SXiQ will join the hybrid cloud services business of IBM Consulting in a bid to boost the latter's capabilities in Australia and New Zealand with regard to modernizing cloud-based applications and technology infrastructure.
This is IBM's latest acquisition in the cloud consulting sector, following the earlier purchases of Finland-based Nordcloud Oy, Taos and BoxBoat Technologies.
