HSBC hires 2 execs in investment banking; Lloyds nonexecutive director retires

HSBC

HSBC Holdings PLC appointed Steven Wirth as global head of real asset fund coverage in its investment banking unit, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.

The lender also promoted Giulio Hoffmann to co-head of power, utilities and renewables of its investment banking unit within Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Hoffmann, previously served as the head of the real estate funds group in EMEA, the report noted. Wirth will join HSBC Feb. 1.

Lloyds Banking Group

Lloyds Banking Group PLC said Sara Weller has decided to retire from the roles of nonexecutive director and head of the responsible business committee at the May 2021 annual general meeting.

Amanda Mackenzie will take over the role of chair of the responsible business committee following Weller's retirement.

Sarah Legg has been appointed as a member of the responsible business committee, effective Feb. 1, the lender said.
