Hightower investing in Kansas-based 6 Meridian

HighTower Advisors LLC is making a strategic investment in 6 Meridian LLC, a Wichita, Kan.-based wealth management firm with $1.8 billion in AUM.

Hightower's strategic investment will provide 6 Meridian with resources for business acceleration, talent development and operational infrastructure to continue its growth, according to a news release. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded by Margaret Dechant, Thomas Kirk, Andrew Mies, Bryan Green, Pam Smith and Sarah Hampton in 2015, 6 Meridian employs 24 team members, including 11 advisers.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter.

Berkshire Global Advisors served as exclusive financial adviser to 6 Meridian on the transaction, with Katz Teller as legal adviser. Hightower was advised by Holland & Knight LLP.
