GTCR LLC, through its management partnership with Corza Health Inc., purchased and combined Surgical Specialties Corp. and TachoSil Fibrin Sealant Patch to form a new company.
Surgical Specialties is a medical technology company specializing in surgical sutures and ophthalmic knives. TachoSil, which was previously owned by Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., develops surgical patch products.
The new entity, Corza Medical, will be headquartered in Westwood, Mass., and will be led by Corza Health CEO Gregory Lucier and Dan Croteau as executive chairman and CEO, respectively.
GTCR seeks opportunities in the healthcare, financial services and technology, media and telecom sectors.
Barclays was a financial adviser to GTCR and Kirkland & Ellis was its legal counsel.
