Groupon appoints CEO

Groupon Inc.'s board of directors appointed Kedar Deshpande as the company's CEO, effective Dec. 10, as Interim CEO Aaron Cooper steps down from the role.

Deshpande will also join the company's board of directors, according to a Dec. 1 news release.

Deshpande worked at Zappos for the last 10 years, where he served as CEO and COO, among other senior leadership roles.
