General Atlantic Service Co. LP is in talks with about 15 companies from various sectors as it looks to invest $2 billion in India and Southeast Asia in the next two years, Reuters reported May 23, citing a the company's head of business in India and Southeast Asia, Sandeep Naik.
The company is in early-stage discussions with companies in sectors including technology, financial services, retail and consumer, Naik said, adding that the company is "very bullish" on India, Indonesia and Vietnam.
General Atlantic is also advising all its portfolio companies to look at consolidation opportunities, given the tough market environment and falling valuations, the news outlet reported.
