Following a soft launch in January, Futu Holdings Ltd. is set to open its Southeast Asia headquarters in Singapore on March 8, The Business Times reported, citing Leaf Hua Li, founder, chairman and CEO of the company.
The Hong Kong-based financial technology company, which operates an application for trading in stocks, warrants, options and ETFs, is also eyeing to expand to Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines, according to Li.
Futu Holdings sees a huge market in Singapore with over one million retail investors, and Li said they could use the city-state as a springboard into the region. It has about 10 people in Singapore, mostly involved in finance and marketing, the reported added.
