Eelpower Ltd. has selected Electricité de France SA as its next trading and optimization partner for three grid-scale battery projects in the U.K. totaling 80 MW.
EDF's specialist teams will be responsible for managing the trading and optimization strategy for the three batteries over a period of seven years, according to a Feb. 23 news release.
Majority ownership of the assets lies with Swiss fund manager SUSI Partners' energy storage fund while the remaining stake is owned by Eelpower itself. SUSI and Eelpower announced a broader partnership for the development of battery storage assets across the U.K. in January.
"The combination of our trading expertise and ability to provide an attractive price floor brings a unique offering to the battery storage marketplace," Stuart Fenner, head of energy trading services at EDF, said.
