E.ON's Essent sells Belgian subsidiary to EDF's Luminus

E.ON SE subsidiary Essent NV entered an agreement for the sale of its Belgian commodity supply business to Electricité de France SA subsidiary Luminus NV.

The transaction is subject to the approval of the European Commission and is expected to close during the summer. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Essent is currently supplying more than 500,000 electricity and gas customers in Belgium, according to a Feb. 5 news release.
