Disney extends CFO's contract; Deutsche Telekom nominates new chairman

Top News

* Walt Disney Co. extended the contract of Christine McCarthy as the company's senior executive vice president and CFO through June 30, 2024.

* Deutsche Telekom AG's supervisory board nominated Frank Appel as chairman. Appel will stand for election at the shareholders meeting April 7, 2022, to succeed Ulrich Rehner.

* Telefónica SA reduced the size of its board to 15 members following the resignation of Ignacio Moreno Martínez and Jordi Gual Solé. Telefónica's board includes nine independent directors.

The Americas

* Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. appointed Harry Sloan as an independent director. Sloan has been chairman of Screaming Eagle Acquisition Corp. since November.

* Stratasys Ltd. CFO Lilach Payorski is stepping down at the end of February 2022 and will be replaced by Eitan Zamir. Zamir is the vice president of finance at Stratasys, having joined the company in 2019.

* Christy Wyatt intends to resign from Quotient Technology Inc.'s board no later than the 2022 annual meeting of shareholders of Absolute Software Corp. Wyatt is the CEO of Absolute Software.

* Comtech Telecommunications Corp. and Outerbridge Capital Management LLC agreed to support a unified slate of directors, and Comtech will appoint Wendi Carpenter, Michael Porcelain and Mark Quinlan to its board no later than Jan. 3, 2022. Additionally, Outerbridge will support the nomination of Judy Chambers and Larry Waldman as directors of Comtech and will withdraw its nomination notice.

* CleanSpark Inc.'s board appointed Gary Vecchiarelli as a replacement for outgoing CFO Lori Love. Vecchiarelli was most recently CFO of healthcare equipment company Imatrex Inc.

* Comscore Inc. promoted Senior Vice President and Controller Mary Curry to chief accounting officer. Curry joined the audience measurement company in 2011 and has worked in various roles.

* LiveOne Inc. said Vice President, Corporate Controller Aaron Sullivan will replace CFO Micheal Quartieri in an interim role after Quartieri leaves the company Dec. 31. Quartieri is joining Dave & Buster's Entertainment Inc. as CFO, and Sullivan will be the placeholder while LiveOne searches for a full-time successor.

* Salem Media Group Inc. named President of Broadcast Media David Santrella CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2022, and promoted President of Digital Media and Publishing David Evans to COO, Dow Jones Newswires reported. Santrella will succeed Edward Atsinger, who will become the executive chairman of the company's board. Additionally, Chairman Stuart Epperson will resign from the board and transition to chairman emeritus, while Stuart Epperson Jr. will fill the vacancy.

Europe, Middle East and Africa

* Luigi Gubitosi is stepping down from Telecom Italia SpA's board, effective immediately, about a month after resigning as the company's CEO, Dow Jones Newswires reported.

* The CEO of South Africa's MTN Group Ltd., Godfrey Motsa, will leave the role effective Jan. 1, 2022. Chief Technology Innovation Officer Charles Molapisi will succeed Motsa. Mazen Mroue will become chief technology innovation officer.

* French telco operator Bouygues Telecom SA will split the mandates of chairman and CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2022, Dow Jones Newswires reported. Richard Viel, chairman and CEO of the telecommunications company, will remain chairman of the board, while Benoit Torloting will take over as CEO.

* Eutelsat Communications SA appointed Eva Berneke CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2022. Berneke will also be co-opted as a member of the board.

* South African telecom operator Telkom SA SOC Ltd.'s CEO, Sipho Maseko, will step down from the role effective Dec. 31. The company appointed Serame Taukobong as group CEO designate, and Taukobong will take over the CEO role starting Jan. 1, 2022.

* The U.K.'s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport appointed Muriel Gray to the board of BBC Scotland as a nonexecutive director for four years.

* The British government is looking to appoint former BBC Chairman Michael Grade to chair telecom and media regulator Ofcom, Bloomberg News reported, citing sources.

* Helmut Reisinger will step down as CEO of Orange Business Services SA, effective Jan. 17, 2022. The current executive vice president of the Orange SA unit's operations and customer service, Aliette Mousnier-Lompré, will take over on an interim basis until a new CEO is appointed.

* U.K. publisher Pearson PLC appointed Omid Kordestani as nonexecutive director and nonexecutive chairperson-designate, Dow Jones Newswires reported. Tim Score was been named deputy chairman-designate.

* Swedish podcast company Acast AB's chairperson, Andrea Gisle Joosen, will not stand for reelection at the company's annual general meeting in May 2022.

* O2 Slovakia s.r.o. Communications Director Tereza Molnar plans to resign from the company, effective Dec. 31, Telecompaper reported.

Asia-Pacific

* Esports Mogul Ltd. appointed Gernot Abl as executive chairman of the e-sports and software company for six months.

* Prime Intelligence Solutions Group Ltd. said Hui Man Ho resigned from the company's board and Wang Xiaoman was appointed as an independent director.
