Crunchyroll Inc. made the beta version of its anime-streaming service available to selected users worldwide, Advanced Television reported Nov. 16.
The beta version is initially accessible to 10% of Crunchyroll's premium and free subscribers, before eventually rolling out to premium and free users globally outside Asia over the succeeding weeks. Users will reportedly be able to switch between Crunchyroll's beta and original versions.
Crunchyroll Beta's new features include an updated interface within its homepage, improvements in personalized content recommendations, enhanced search and filtering functions and expanded availability of the "Crunchylist" feature that allows users to create curated lists of their favorite anime content.
Crunchyroll first rolled out its beta version to U.S. users earlier in 2021, according to the report.
Funimation Global Group LLC, a joint venture between Sony Group Corp. unit Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. and Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc.-owned Aniplex Inc., owns Crunchyroll.
