This year, we are rebranding these events ‘Banking Horizons’ to better reflect their focus on the longer-term risks and opportunities that matter to the banking industry. Alison was invited by the UK Government to lead a review of the barriers to women starting a business and launched The Rose Review in March 2019. Alison also champions NatWest’s Entrepreneur Accelerator programme, an innovative initiative supporting start-up businesses across the UK, and sponsors the bank’s employee-led networks.
Alison was born in 1969. She grew up around the world before settling in England at the age of 15. She studied at Durham University and joined the NatWest graduate scheme in 1992. She is married with two children. Minimize
Véron has authored or co-authored numerous policy papers that include banking supervision and crisis management, financial reporting, the Eurozone policy framework, and economic nationalism. He has testified repeatedly in front of committees of the European Parliament, national parliaments in several EU member states, and US Congress. His publications also include Smoke & Mirrors, Inc.: Accounting for Capitalism, a book on accounting standards and practices (Cornell University Press, 2006), and several books in French.
His prior experience includes working for Saint-Gobain in Berlin and Rothschilds in Paris in the early 1990s; economic aide to the Prefect in Lille (1995-97); corporate adviser to France’s Labour Minister (1997-2000); and chief financial officer of MultiMania / Lycos France, a publicly-listed online media company (2000-2002). From 2002 to 2009 he also operated an independent Paris-based financial consultancy.
Véron is a board member of the derivatives arm (Global Trade Repository) of the Depositary Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), a financial infrastructure company that operates globally on a not-for-profit basis. A French citizen born in 1971, he has a quantitative background as a graduate from Ecole Polytechnique (1992) and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris (1995). He is trilingual in English, French and Spanish, and has fluent understanding of German and Italian.
In September 2012, Bloomberg Markets included Véron in its second annual 50 Most Influential list with reference to his early advocacy of European banking union. Minimize
Jean Pierre was appointed head of Société Générale's Corporate & Investment Banking Division in 2003, and was also a member of the bank's Executive Committee. In September 2008, he took over the responsibility for Asset Management, Private Banking and Securities Services.
After leaving Société Générale at the end of 2009 he has advised many financial institutions and completed large amounts of fundraising for various social enterprises and non-profit institutions, also as trustee.
In early 2011 he joined UniCredit as Deputy General Manager in charge of the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Division. He was a member of the UniCredit Executive Management Committee. Upon stepping down from his executive role at UniCredit at the end of December 2014, he joined the bank's international advisory board.
In January 2015, Jean Pierre became a London based partner of Tikehau Capital, an investment management group, with specific focus and responsibility for Tikehau's international expansion.
On 30th June 2016 he was co-opted as member of the board of directors of UniCredit S.p.A., being thereafter appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer and General Manager effective 12th July 2016.

Prior to joining Metro Bank, Daniel has worked in America, the UK, Eastern Europe and Bermuda. He has performed business, risk, product and commercial executive level roles throughout his career. Daniel was Group Chief Operating Officer at Butterfield Bank with responsibility for eight jurisdictions across the globe covering a range of business and support areas. Minimize
Antony is committed to driving the digital economy beyond the boundaries of 10x; he serves as Group Chairman of Currencies Direct, the leading UK non-bank provider of foreign exchange and international payment services, a board member of Blockchain, the world’s leading software platform for digital assets, and Board Director for US mortgage lending giant Fannie Mae.
Additionally, Antony is committed to advancing digital education and skills in the workforce; his dedication to the advancement of learning is recognised in his role as Chair of the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education, an employer-led organisation established to promote high-quality apprenticeships by 2020. Since 2014, Maria has worked with Danske Bank Sweden’s strategic growth initiatives within sustainability. First as senior advisor for Strategy and Sustainability and for the past three years as Head of Societal Impact and Sustainability in Sweden. Minimize
Pierre has been with S&P Global Ratings since 2005 and is based in Paris. Prior to his present managerial roles, Pierre was a senior banking analyst covering Financial Institutions in in France, Belgium, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. He also had extensive
senior analytical responsibilities in Central And Eastern Europe. Before joining S&P Global Ratings, Pierre worked for 2 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Paris, as an auditor for some of the largest French banks.
Pierre holds a Master Degree of Finance and Economics from the Lyon Business School in France. He speaks also German in addition to English and French. Minimize
-assigning and maintaining internal Credit Ratings on Developed Markets credit issuers (financials, REITs, non-financials, public sector);
-coordinating and defining annual investment plans with AXA Group’s local entities;
-following up the implementation of the investment plan with the asset managers;
-defining and coordinating de-risking plans when needed.
Over the last five years, Stéphane has been instrumental in incorporating ESG criteria within AXA’s internal rating methodology. He is also a permanent member of AXA Group’s Responsible Investment Committee as well as other Group Committees (Investment, Credit Risk, Financial Risk…).
Before joining AXA, and since 2006, Stéphane was team leader, responsible for French and Benelux banks at a Moody’s. In total, he spent 25 years in various credit-related positions in risk management, buy-side research, sell-side research and credit rating. Stéphane studied at HEC Paris and Bocconi University in Milan and holds a Master Degree in Management. Stéphane is an EFFAS-certified analyst and member of the Credit Commission within SFAF. In early 2018, Stéphane joined the UN-sponsored Principles for Responsible Investment’s (PRI) Advisory Committee on Credit Ratings as a permanent member. In this function, Stéphane co-leads the Advisory Committee’s outreach initiative vis-à-vis regulators. Minimize
During his time as CEO, Stéphane drove the high growth of Coalition with a strong focus on client relationship, team development and analytics innovation.
Prior to Coalition, Stéphane was a consultant at McKinsey & Company for 7 years advising global and European investment banks on their Global Markets, Corporate Finance and Corporate Banking activities. He worked on strategic and operational assignments in Paris, New York and London. Prior to McKinsey, he worked in Banque Nationale de Paris’s Structured Finance team in New York.
Stéphane holds an MBA from Harvard Business School (1999-2001) and an Engineering Master from École des Mines de Paris (1992-1995). Minimize
Prior to joining S&P Global, Evan helped build and oversee the ESG and Impact Investing Platform for Deutsche Bank’s Asset and Wealth Management vertical. Previously he spent over a decade as a private equity investor in the States, Europe and Asia.
Evan has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Duke University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. MinimizePrevious to joining S&P Global Ratings, Osman was a Senior Associate at the UK’s Financial Services Authority (FSA), where his responsibilities included negotiating and promoting the FSA’s position within the European Securities & Markets Authority (ESMA) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) on accounting and audit matters, developing FSA discussion papers on UK banks’ financial reporting and providing written briefings to FSA senior management on significant accounting matters.
Before the FSA, Osman worked for PwC for nine years where he brought expertise to the Capital Markets and Assurance practices as a Manager.
Osman holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and is a qualified chartered accountant (FCA). He is also a co-chair of the International Accounting Standards Board’s (IASB’s) Capital Markets Advisory Committee, an independent body with the specific aim of providing the IASB with regular input from the international community of users of financial statements.
