Global private equity deal value climbs 31% YOY in November 2025

Global private equity and venture capital deal value rose 31% year over year in November to $50.11 billion from $38.37 billion, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data.

The number of deals in November fell to 757 from 1,040.

As of Nov. 30, total deal value stood at $828.96 billion, having already exceeded the full-year total for 2024 of $704.29 billion.

The number of deals in the first 11 months of 2025 totaled 11,625, compared with 13,825 for the full year 2024.

Top sectors

The technology, media and telecommunications sector recorded the most deal activity in November, with 245 private equity-backed transactions, accounting for a quarter of all private equity-backed deals during the month.

Within the sector, application software recorded the highest number of transactions at 117, down from 202 deals in the same month a year earlier.

Systems software ranked second with 25 deals, followed by semiconductors with 20.

Largest deals

In November, 11 private equity-backed transactions with at least $1 billion in value were announced.

In the largest transaction of the month, Clayton Dubilier & Rice LLC agreed to buy bubble wrap maker Sealed Air Corp. for $10.31 billion in an all-cash transaction.

BofA Securities, BNP Paribas Securities Corp, Citi, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, Lazard, Mizuho, RBC Capital Markets, UBS Investment Bank and Wells Fargo were financial advisers to CD&R, with Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP serving as legal counsel. Evercore was the financial adviser to Sealed Air, with Latham & Watkins LLP providing legal counsel.

The second-largest deal was Investindustrial's announced acquisition of snacks and beverage manufacturer TreeHouse Foods Inc. for almost $3 billion.

Lazard, RBC Capital Markets and Deutsche Bank are financial advisers to Investindustrial, with Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP and Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP are the legal advisers. Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is a financial adviser to TreeHouse Foods, while Jones Day is providing legal counsel.
