PNC Bank NA announced a $500 million increase in its branch investment, aiming to open over 100 new branches and renovate 200 existing locations across the US.
The expansion builds on the bank's earlier commitment to establish 100 new branches and renovate 1,200 locations, bringing its total investment to about $1.5 billion, according to a Nov. 8 company release.
Over the next five years, PNC plans to open more than 200 new branches in 12 cities while renovating 1,400 existing ones.
The Pittsburg, Pennsylvania-based subsidiary of PNC Financial Services Group Inc. will now expand its branch network throughout Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh and Tampa, alongside previously announced expansions in Austin, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami and San Antonio.
The bank also announced plans to meaningfully expand the number of new branches it will build in Miami.
PNC currently operates over 2,200 branches and serves clients through more than 60,000 PNC and partner ATMs, online services and mobile banking, including 22 mobile branches aimed at improving access in underserved communities, according to the release.
