A unit of Germany-headquartered wpd AG unit and U.K.-based offshore wind developer Australis Energy Ltd.
Australis Energy has already completed the first two phases of project planning. Through the joint venture, wpd offshore Australia Holding GmbH will assist Australis Energy in completing environmental studies, grid access agreements and permitting for the projects in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, among other tasks.
"With the investment opportunity offered by Australis Energy to participate in the further development of their Australian offshore wind project portfolio, we have the chance to work with one of the first project developers to start systematically developing offshore wind projects in Australia," Mirjam Tome, project development director of wpd Australia, said in a news release.
