NB Power CEO steps down; Puget Energy, utility appoint COO

Power

* Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc. named Paul Ito interim CFO, according to a July 6 SEC filing. The move was effective July 2. Ito is the company's controller, treasurer and vice president of taxes.

* ALLETE Inc. elected Charles Matthews, retired president and CEO of People's Gas and North Shore Gas Co., to serve on its board of directors effective July 6, according to a news release.

* FirstEnergy Corp. appointed Joseph McClelland vice president of external affairs effective July 18, the company said in a July 5 news release.

* Keith Cronkhite will step down as president and CEO of NB Power, the company's board said July 4.

* Encavis AG CEO Dierk Paskert will step down December 31, the company said in a July 4 news release. The head of operations and IT, Mario Schirru, was appointed to the management board effective August 1.

* Puget Energy Inc. and its utility subsidiary, Puget Sound Energy Inc., named Wade Smith executive vice president and COO. Smith will begin the new role July 18, the companies said in a July 1 SEC filing.

* Pacific Gas and Electric Co. appointed Janisse Quiñones senior vice president of electric operations, effective July 11, the company said in a July 1 news release. Christine Cowsert Chapman will succeed Quiñones as senior vice president of gas engineering and will be succeeded by Martin Wyspianski as vice president of electric engineering, asset and regulatory.

* Snam SpA's CFO and chief international assets and business development officer, Alessandra Pasini, will step down from both roles, according to a June 30 news release. CEO Stefano Venier will be interim CFO.
