Subsidiaries of Sempra and Swiss company INEOS AG have entered into a heads of agreement for U.S. liquified natural gas supply.
Under the deal, Sempra Infrastructure would supply about 1.4 million tonnes per year of LNG to INEOS Energy Trading Ltd. for 20 years from the proposed Port Arthur LNG LLC project in Texas or Cameron LNG Phase 2 project in Louisiana, according to a June 22 news release.
INEOS is the latest European company to strike a deal with Sempra. Sempra Infrastructure agreed to sell LNG to Polish oil and gas company Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA last month. Under that deal, Sempra will supply 2 Mt/y of LNG from the Cameron LNG Phase 2 project and 1 Mt/y from the Port Arthur LNG project. Sempra has also agreed to a 15-year U.S. LNG supply deal with German company RWE AG.
