Permira, Vista Credit invest $125M in Housecall Pro; Cornell to buy Advantek

TOP NEWS IN PRIVATE EQUITY

* Permira Advisers Ltd.'s growth opportunities platform and Vista Equity Partners Management LLC's Vista Credit Partners unit invested $125 million in Housecall Pro, which provides software solutions for small and midsize home services businesses.

* Cornell Capital LLC is acquiring Advantek Inc. from Tinicum LP and funds affiliated with Tinicum Inc. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. The sellers will retain a minority interest in the business, which manufactures precision component packaging and delivery systems for high-value semiconductor and electronic components.

DEALS

* Blackstone Inc.-managed real estate and private equity funds completed the acquisition of Australian entertainment group Crown Resorts Ltd. The US$6.07 billion acquisition is Blackstone's largest transaction to date in Asia-Pacific, it said. The deal includes three premium resort and casino properties in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

* Healthcare private equity firm Ampersand Management LLC invested in medical device software solutions company Sterlingtech Inc.

* Madison Dearborn Partners LLC portfolio company BlueCat Networks Inc. received a strategic growth investment from Audax Management Co. LLC. BlueCat provides mission-critical infrastructure software for network control, automation and security.

FUNDRAISING

* India-based OAKS Asset Management raised 10 billion rupees at the first close of its second fund, The Economic Times reported, citing OAKS senior fund managers. OAKS invests in middle-market consumer companies. The firm expects to close the fund by the end of July.

VENTURE CAPITAL

* Insight Venture Management LLC led a $38 million series B funding round for Evinced Inc., which makes software for mobile development. Existing investors M12, Benhamou Global Ventures LLC, Capital One Ventures and Engineering Capital LLC participated.

* AP Ventures LLP, SK Innovation, Amazon's The Climate Pledge Fund, Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures and Newlab participated in the $46 million bridge round for Amogy, which provides ammonia-based, emission-free power solutions to decarbonize transportation.

* Swedish audience engagement platform Mentimeter AB collected $42 million in a series C funding round led by Creades AB, Nordstjernan AB and Alfvén Didrikson.
