FinWise Bancorp terminates chief strategy officer; BankProv adds SVP

Murray, Utah-based FinWise Bancorp. terminated the employment of David Tilis as senior vice president and chief strategy officer of its unit, FinWise Bank, on June 16.

The employment agreement between Tilis and the company expired in accordance with its terms and was not renewed, according to a Form 8-K filing.

Amesbury, Mass.-based BankProv, legally operating as The Provident Bank, hired Jean Kim as senior vice president on its sponsor finance team.

Kim, who previously worked at East West Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, will lead business development efforts in the New York market.

Terra Firma Capital Corp., a Toronto-based mortgage bank, appointed Tristan Kingcott to its board.

Kingcott is director and general manager of ICM CA Research Ltd.

In connection with Kingcott's appointment, Terra Firma has agreed with ICM CA Research to nominate Kingcott or such other nominee proposed by ICM CA Research, reasonably acceptable to the board, for election at future shareholders meetings of the company. ICM CA Research's nomination right will terminate when ICM CA Research ceases to own at least 10% of the outstanding shares of Terra Firma, according to a news release.

Muncie, Ind.-based First Merchants Corp. added Kevin Johnson and Jason Sondhi to its board, which it expanded from 12 to 14 members.

Johnson will serve as a Class I director, with an initial term continuing until the company's 2023 annual shareholders meeting, at which he will be considered for election for a two-year term. Sondhi, a Class III director, will be considered for election for a one-year term at the same meeting.
