Shutterstock appoints new CEO; Sinclair names chief innovation officer

Top News

* Shutterstock Inc. appointed Paul Hennessy CEO of the company, effective July 1. Hennessy will replace Shutterstock founder Jonathan Oringer, who took up an interim role after former CEO Stan Pavlovsky stepped down on May 3 to pursue other opportunities.

* Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. appointed Scott Ehrlich to the newly created role of chief innovation officer. Ehrlich will also continue overseeing Sinclair's on-air networks Comet (US), Charge! (US) and TBD (US), as well as streaming services NewsON and STIRR. The company also promoted Ryan Moore to chief revenue officer and senior vice president of digital sales and sports. Moore was Sinclair's senior vice president of digital sales prior to the new appointment.

* SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. CFO and Treasurer Elizabeth Castro Gulacsy intends to retire, effective Dec. 31 or once her successor is named, if earlier.

* Splunk Inc. appointed Katie Bianchi senior vice president and chief customer officer.

* Software company Bill.com Holdings Inc. named Michael DeAngelo its chief people officer. Additionally, Bill.com appointed former head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, Aida Álvarez, to the company's board.

* RingCentral Inc. named Sonalee Parekh CFO, effective May 31, and appointed COO Mo Katibeh president. Parekh joins RingCentral from Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co., where she was CFO of the company's communications technology group.

* Docebo Inc. named Nina Simosko chief sales officer and Nicole Williams senior vice president of revenue strategy and operations.

* Vroom Inc.'s board appointed COO Tom Shortt CEO and director of the e-commerce company. Shortt replaces former CEO Paul Hennessy, who joined Shutterstock.

* Lee Enterprises Inc. elected Shaun McAlmont a director of the publishing company. McAlmont is president and CEO of cybersecurity training company NINJIO LLC.

* IMedia Brands Inc. appointed Tom Zielecki senior vice president and CFO, effective immediately. The company also promoted Vice President of Technology, Troy Collings, to senior vice president and chief information officer.

Europe, Middle East and Africa

* Nokia Oyj Chief People Officer Stephanie Werner-Dietz is set to leave the Finnish company and step down from its group leadership team, effective Aug. 31.

* Nordic Entertainment Group AB named Enrique Patrickson CFO and executive vice president, effective in August.

* U.K. communications infrastructure company Arqiva Group Ltd. named Chief Commercial Officer Shuja Khan as its next CEO, effective June 1, succeeding Paul Donovan.

* Denmark-based pan-African music streaming service Mdundo.com A/S appointed Whitney Njeru Njagi as COO starting May, Telecompaper reported.

* Magnus Hansson stepped down as CFO of Sweden-based software company Lime Technologies AB but will continue in the role until a new CFO is found.

Asia-Pacific

* Wang Yuhang resigned as an executive director of China Mobile Ltd. Meanwhile, Moses Cheng Mo Chi and Paul Chow Man Yu will retire "by rotation" as directors at the company's May 18 annual general meeting.

* Japan's Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. appointed Vito Mabrucco as its global chief marketing officer.

* Enterprise software company VMware Inc. tapped Sarene Lee to become its country manager for Malaysia, BusinessToday reported.

* Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom appointed Chau-Young Lin as president of its information technology group. Lin was president of the telco's data communications business group prior to the appointment.

* Telstra Corp. Ltd. promoted Noah Drake to the role of president for the Americas. Drake most recently led the Australian operator's customer solutions and architecture group.

* Shareholders of Malaysian telco Maxis Bhd. approved the reelection of Chairman Tan Sri Mokhzani bin Mahathir and four other directors, as well as a term extension for Alvin Michael Hew Thai Kheam as an independent nonexecutive director.

* Globe Telecom, a Philippines-based mobile operator, named Raul Macatangay its new chief information officer. Macatangay replaced Carlomagno Malana, who became CEO of KarmanEdge Inc., a joint venture between Globe, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, and Ayala Corp.

* Bangladesh-based mobile operator Grameenphone Ltd. appointed Hans Martin Henrichsen as its new chief corporate affairs officer, effective May 15. Hossain Sadat previously held the role in an acting capacity.

* Telekom Malaysia named Krish Datta executive vice president of digital services. Datta had worked for data management services and software provider Syniti as CEO for the Asia-Pacific, Japan and the Middle East region.

* Ronen Ghosh stepped down as CEO of software-as-a-service provider Simble Solutions Ltd. Ghosh will transition to a part-time role as CFO, while the CEO post will not be filled amid a strategic review. Nonexecutive Chairman Ben Loiterton became executive chairman, effective immediately.
